#LYFEISGREAT

June 27, 2016

Hello there!
We had such a great week! We picked up 7 new investigators, and I know that it was because we were walking around the areas that we had planned to try people. The Lord will provide finding opportunities for us, as we seek for those opportunities. We also walked for 11.2 hours last week. Man, is my body tired. Ah. Haha, but the work is great! Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven!

One of the investigators that we picked up, Devahn, is so cool. We walked over to him and said "hi" and right away, he pulled out two chairs, opened up the trunk to his car, and we began talking about the gospel. He has been wanting to find the truth. He told us yesterday that he is searching to find it. We were talking about The Family: A Proclamation to the World, and he looked up from reading it, and said, "but what if people don't want to have kids?" He has 3, but I began teaching him about how God needs his Spirit children to gain bodies, and he interrupted and said "Wait, spirit children, spirit bodies??" He looked so excited. Then, I said "Oh yeah! We share another message about where we were before this life, why we are here today, and where we will be going." He wanted to hear about it right then, but due to shortage of time, we had to go. But, the Spirit was so strong, and I know that that is something he needs to be taught. I'm so excited for Wednesday! He is also going to feed us. I also love this ward. We brought a great member with us, who is great at fellowshipping. Go out and help the missionaries!!

We found a few families this last week, the Lord is blessing us so much. Cathy's mom will be attending our church this upcoming Sunday, fast Sunday, and I think Cathy wants to bear her testimony!

I also had my outgoing/exit interview with my mission president. I love him. He is so great. I was so nervous before the interview. My stomach was so tight, and I was nervous, because that was my interview where we talk about dating and the future. Ah. I still don't know what to think about all of this. I'm going to need to rely on the Lord for this one.

I've been reflecting on my mission lately. Do you ever reflect on your life and see the attributes (whether good or bad) that you've developed over the years? I know that I have changed, in a good way. I have turned towards my Savior, Jesus Christ and become His disciple. I know that I am not perfect, and I make plenty of mistakes, but I am so grateful for this gospel, for the sacrament and the Atonement, that we are able to apply it in our lives and become what the Lord needs us to become to be a greater instrument in His hands. So, I invite you to become! Turn to the Lord and ask what you need to work on, to further help Him in His work. The Lord loves you. He will enable you to do more than you are even capable of. It is amazing to see His hand in my life, and I am beyond grateful for that!

I hope you have a great week!

Love,
Sister Cozzens

TRANSFERS!!!

June 20, 2016

Aloha!!

Speaking of Polynesians, we had THE BEST dinner (physically and spiritually) with a couple on Saturday. #BESTFOODEVER

Also, it was REALLY hot yesterday, and it is going to be hot again today!! WOO! #sweat

Anyway, transfers! So my companion's name is Sister Rodriguez! She is from Texas! GO TEXANS!! She has been out for 4 1/2 months, and I am really excited to be with her and work and serve with everything we have!

Cathy's mom made her go to a different church, yesterday, but afterward, she text me and said "they were welcoming and friendly, but the Spirit wasn't there like it is in our church." She said OUR!!! She is the cutest!! She convinced her mom to come to church with us in a couple of weeks. So that'll be great!

Sorry, limited time! I sent Sarah (my mini) off today with her grandma, but I love her. She is so amazing, and I am so excited for her to serve her own mission. She has helped me so much, and I know that the Lord has great things in store for her.

I know that Christ lives, and I have come to know Him even more as I've read the Book of Mormon. No, as I have feasted. It is the word of God, and I am so grateful for the power it brings into my life. I invite you to sacrifice time EVERYDAY to feast. It will bless you.

Have a great week!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Hola!

My mini missionary's name is Sarah! She is great! She's 21 and is almost done with her mission papers!

Sister Cozzens and her mini missionary, Sarah

Update on Cathy: She went to St. George for youth conference with the stake and had an amazing experience! She's given up coffee and prays every night and reads the Book of Mormon every day. She's a great example. I love her. However, her mom is very hesitant with the whole baptism thing, so we are working on her! :/ It's in the Lord's hands!!

We picked up the coolest family last week! They are the Ledbetter's, Sister Ledbetter got her leg amputated in April and is recovering from that, but she is so positive. She was telling me that she had prayed for something to change in her life and out of nowhere, her foot got an infection and began to spread up her leg, and she ended up needing to get her leg amputated. We laughed about how the Lord answers prayers in His own way, and it can be VERY unexpected. She and her family are so humble, and they are super cool. The Spirit was so strong, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to teach the people that God has prepared. It is such a blessing to bring so much joy into people's lives!

There is this thing called "my plan" and the church created it for missionaries going home. So, I will be participating in that every Friday, online, during my personal study....and I don't want to do it! I'm kind of freaking out about going home. School, dating, marriage, boys...ah....so foreign.

I hope you have a great week and a great Father's Day! Also, you should all prepare for missions!

Love,
Sister Cozzens

Piel Moore Sticks, Cozz!

June 6, 2016

Hi there!!

So I had a crazy week, but it was good! And sad... Sister Haughawout had to go home due to migraines, keep her in your prayers! :) She left on Wednesday and from then on until today, I was with Sisters Pielstick and Moore, the STLs!!! They are so great! I stinking love them! #trioLIFE We covered both of our areas, so it was a little tough, but we had fun, and the Lord blessed us! The Sisters had exchanges back to back on Friday and Saturday, and Sister Roberts came to our areas with Sister Moore and I, so it was a nice little reunion!!! We all came into the mission together! We talked about home and made plans for after the mission, BUT! we did not get trunky! It was great! Also, I get a mini missionary today, for the last two weeks of the transfer. I'm a little nervous, taking over the area by myself, without a full time missionary, but I know that the Lord will carry us and bless us.

Sisters Moore and Pielstick

We saw so much success in the 3 days we worked. I also got to go to MLC as a visitor, since I am not a STL, it was great. I felt a little out of place, but it was fun to be in the loop! We picked up four new investigators, in two days, and three of them are a family! Me gusta familias!! (I love families).

On their way to MLC (Missionary Leadership Council)

So, update on Cathy, she is so awesome!! She is reading the Book of Mormon and loving it. She was able to go to her boyfriend's friend's baptism! She sent me a text, after the baptism, and told me that she could not wait for her baptism! She also came to church! Her boyfriend, Jakob, is a non member and him going to the baptism planted some more seeds. He left the baptism, I'm sure, feeling the Spirit, and asking a whole bunch of questions about God and who He is and why things happen in our lives. God is so good, and it's amazing so see His hand in the work. I love Him.

Sister Cozzens with Cathy

Well, God is good, and the word is good. 3 Nephi 17:2-3. We can't understand everything about the gospel at once. We can't read the Book of Mormon quickly and gain things from it. That is why we feast, study, ponder and prepare. Grace for grace. D&C 93:7-20. Just as the Savior received the fulness, grace for grace, so shall we, as we obey the commandments.

Have a great week!

Love, Sister Cozzens

How is everyone doing??? HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

We went to the temple this week! It was wonderful! Like always, I wish I could go more often, but it is fine!

An Chi

May 25, 2016

Hello!!!

So if you are confused, An Chi is my name in Vietnamese! "An" is cousins (like family in Vietnamese) and "Chi" is sister (like an actual sister). But hey, it works right?? Haha. Our investigator Cathy- Dinh Dong Thy is doing so amazing!! She is on date for June 26th, and she is reading The Book of Mormon and loves church. We are so excited. The hardest part is that her mom is a little unsure with the whole thing. We just need to make sure that she is praying and actually asking God if this is the true church and if the things we are teaching her are true, so that she can tell her mom how she feels! But, she loves learning and is so curious about the church and what the "rules" are!

Also, I am emailing today instead of on Monday, because we are going to the temple today!! Woot, woot! I am so excited! I love to see the temple and go inside every 3 months! I wish we could go more, but it's okay.

Also, something awesome happened on Saturday!! I MET ELDER CHRISTOFFERSON!!! AND I SHOOK HIS HAND!!! He is so cool, and he said my name right!! It was great. The Spirit was so strong, and he left a blessing on the mission. BTW, our whole mission was able to gather together, and it was soooo good!! I got to see Sisters Roberts and Turner and Bedingfield and all my other mission buddies!!!

We also picked up 6 new investigators!!! WOOOO!!! The work is going so good, and I am grateful that it is. God is great!

I know that Christ lives!! He is our Savior, and I know that repentance is real. I am so grateful that I can repent and change, because I make soooo many mistakes. But, the Lord is so merciful and loving and has His arms open to everyone. This gospel is perfect, and I know that this is the Lord's kingdom.

Have a great week!

Love, Sister Cozzens
